Seattle Tilth's Maritime Northwest Garden Guide, $14.95. Our best-selling book, this is an essential month-by-month manual tailored to our climate and growing season and useful for beginning to advanced gardeners. The 78-page guide outlines each month's garden tasks and lists hundreds of vegetable, herb and flower varieties to plant. It also includes strategies for year-round gardening, articles about organic gardening techniques and activities for kids. "A ton of practical and accurate information. Teaching Peace Though Gardening, $10. This manual, developed for teachers by Seattle Tilth, combines garden care with games and art for a fun and educational program. Activities and lessons are appropriate for children of elementary school age. 

Worms Eat My Garbage $12.95. The only book you'll ever need for worm composting, written by compost pioneer Mary Appelhof.

Chickens in Your Backyard $12.95. A starter manual for anyone interested in keeping chickens. Designed for beginners but still suitable for chicken-keeping veterans, this book discusses the entire process. Written by Rick and Gail Luttmann.

We no longer sell worms. Mail order worms are available from Yelm Earthworm and Castings Farm or may be purchased at Stoneway Hardware in Seattle.

Worm Bins
Worm Factory worm bins ($95) made of heavy duty black plastic are available in a limited supply at our office. Please call in advance to check availability. Also, you may contact the Garden Hotline for wooden worm bin sources.
