Children's Garden Volunteer Trainings Spring 2010

Dates of training sessions for children's garden volunteer naturalists.

Volunteer in the Children’s Garden and learn to lead small groups of children in gardening activities. The tours are hands-on garden field trips for school children in preschool through sixth grade. Tours run Mondays through Fridays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., March 9 through June 11, 2010.

Please start by attending a volunteer orientation which takes place the first Tuesday of every month from 6-7pm at the Good Shepherd Center. After that, attend a two part training session for spring 2010 Children's Garden tours. The next session is Thursday, March 11 from 6-8pm in room 223 of the Good Shepherd Center AND Saturday, March 13 from 9am-noon out in the garden. Following that we will hold a condenced version of the training on Thursday, April 15 from 4:30-7:30pm.

Children's Garden Summer programs are held between 10 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday and run from June 14 through September 3. Training and support for summer takes place on the job. Please email to find schedule and shift times.
