- Children's
Garden Teaching Intern
Lead small groups of children through the garden curriculum, inviting children and their adults into the garden world where they learn about the different plants and critters. This internship takes place at the Good Shepherd Center in north Seattle. - 21 Acres Farm Camp Intern
Seattle Tilth and 21 Acres are partnering to create a farm-based summer camp for kids! Farm Camp will be located at 21 Acres’ site in Woodinville. We are looking for creative, enthusiastic interns who want to learn about and experience youth education in a hands-on way. Small stipend available, camps start July 1.
Cooking & Nutrition Internships
- Cooking Club Intern at Seattle Youth Garden Works
Assist with ten week cooking club events at the Seattle Youth Garden Works farm. As a cooking club intern you will support Community Kitchens NW manager to offer nutrition and culinary support in a fun and interactive way to program participants. - Cooking Club Intern at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands
Assist with summer cooking events at the Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands. As a cooking club intern you will support Community Kitchens NW manager to offer nutrition and culinary support in a fun and interactive way to program participants. Intern will also assist in kitchen management and possible harvesting and other farm duties related to meal preparation. - Recipe Intern for Community Kitchens Northwest
Assist with the development of seasonal recipes as well as organize and format existing recipes into a useable database. Recipes will be used by school age students, 3rd – 12th grade, for our CSA/Good Food Bag program (low cost produce bags for low income families) focused around seasonal availability, as well as ESL participant focusing on pictorial recipes.
Garden & Farm Internships
- Garden Steward Interns
Learn about sustainable landscape management and organic food gardening while practicing leadership skills in one or more of Seattle Tilth's gardens in north Seattle, southeast Seattle, or Issaquah. Applications accepted on a rolling basis. - Farm Steward at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands
Work with Seattle Tilth and Friends of RBUFW to transition a ten acre commercial nursery and wetlands site into a market organic farm. Development is starting in 2013 after extensive community input! Learn about greenhouse and shade-house management, field cultivation, harvesting, produce distribution, education techniques, wetlands restoration, and much more.
- Harvest Fair Lead
Support a great, fun community and local food event by recruiting and coordinating a group of participants: Farmers, Vendors, Non-profits, Music, or Volunteers. Learn about event coordination, build connections with some great local food folks, and much more!
- Adult Education Program Intern
Play an integral role in the support of our adult education program. Ensure the quality of our adult education classes through classroom preparation, student survey management, and general instructor and volunteer support. - Volunteer Program Intern
Assist in coordinating the volunteer program with 1000 volunteers at Seattle Tilth. Support events and ongoing program volunteers and interns through recruitment, tracking, recognition, and more. - Marketing Intern
Assist with marketing activities at Seattle Tilth to promote our programs, activities and events in the greater Seattle area. Duties might include updating online media, proofreading, writing, simple graphic design, photography and other mass communications.
