Conservation Internships
- Garden Hotline Outreach and Information Intern
Provide support to the Garden Hotline educators for their outreach events and conduct the inventory and assist with maintenance of our internal WIKI information database. Application due May 4.
Teaching Internships

Children's Garden Teaching Intern
Lead small groups of children through the garden curriculum, inviting children and their adults into the garden world where they learn about the different plants and critters. This internship takes place at the Good Shepherd Center in north Seattle, the Rainer Beach Learning Garden, or Rainier Community Center. - Cooking Club Intern
Learn how to support a kitchen lead to coordinate a ten week cooking based nutrition education club at a partner agency in the community. Current cooking clubs are at Aki Kurose Middle School, Rainier Community Center, Cleveland High School, Tiny Tots Development Center, and Yesler Community Center. 4-8 hrs/week, 12 weeks. North & Central Seattle year-long positions also available.
Garden/Farm Internships
- Garden Steward Interns
Learn about sustainable landscape management and organic food gardening while practicing leadership skills in one or more of Seattle Tilth's gardens in north, southeast, central Seattle, or Issaquah. - Farm Steward Internship at Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands
Work with Seattle Tilth and Friends of Atlantic City Nursery to jump start programming and landscape stewardship at the ten acre commercial nursery and wetlands site.

Harvest Fair Lead
A team of lead coordinators are needed to help make the Harvest Fair in September a success! Support the event by working with and coordinating farmers, community organizations, local businesses, and more participants in this great event. Read more about the Harvest Fair. - Seattle Youth Garden Works Auction Procurement Intern
Support Seattle Tilth’s Seattle Youth Garden Works (SYGW) Auction planning team by coordinating item procurement & donor outreach, managing an auction database, support outreach to potential attendees, and coordinate with other staff and volunteers to create a successful event on Oct. 20, 2012. Great for someone hoping to gain development and event experience!
- Seattle Youth Garden Works Auction Outreach Intern
Provide support to Seattle Tilth’s SYGW Auction planning team by coordinating an auction database, prepping materials and programs, putting together the auction catalog, support outreach to potential attendees, and coordinate with other staff and volunteers to create a successful event on Oct. 20, 2012. Great for someone hoping to gain development and event experience! - Seattle Youth Garden Works Auction Logistics Intern
Provide support to Seattle Tilth’s SYGW Auction planning team by helping to coordinate logistics of the event (catering, décor, etc.), event equipment and layout, day-of check-in and item pick-up systems, and coordinate with other staff and volunteers to create a successful event on Oct. 20, 2012. Great for someone hoping to gain development and event experience!
- Events Coordinator Intern for Just Garden Project
Working with the JGP intern team, you will coordinate and oversee volunteers for building 30 new backyard food gardens for low-income families in King County in 2012. You will also coordinate and communicate with volunteers and volunteer sites for the annual Spring Into Bed Event. Contact food@justgarden.org
