Internships

  • Garden Steward

    Learn about sustainable landscape management and organic food gardening while practicing leadership skills in Seattle Tilth's learning gardens at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Garden Volunteers
    Join a crew to learn about organic gardening with hands-on experience helping build and maintain our community learning garden at the Pickering Barn.
  • Children's Education Volunteer Naturalists
    Lead kids on Earth Steward sensory tours of the learning garden as a Volunteer Naturalist. Learn about organic gardening and teaching while having loads of fun.
  • Pickering Barn Learning Garden Ambassador
    Represent the Pickering Barn Learning Garden & Seattle Tilth in the garden on Saturdays during market season, mid April to mid October.  Volunteers will be trained but then will be unsupervised at the market.  Garden Ambassadors will talk up Seattle Tilth, our mission, how they can volunteer, give info on plants, upcoming events, classes etc.

Can't make the next Volunteer Orientation, but want to get started working with us right away?  Try attending a drop-in work party!

  • Drop-in "Veggie Crew" Work Parties at the Pickering Barn Learning Garden in Issaquah (1730 10th Ave NW Issaquah, WA 98027)
    Learn about organic food growing techniques and help maintain our community learning garden in with planting, harvesting, weeding and more. Help educate the public and harvest food that we donate to the Issaquah Food Bank.

    Tues., 5-8 p.m.; May 22, June 26
