- Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands Work Parties

Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands

Help plant, harvest, and maintain the Rainier Beach Urban Farm, and upgrade the site for the next step towards more food production. - Community Kitchens NW Dinner Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunities
- Children's Garden Volunteer Naturalists
Lead students from the Rainer Valley neighborhood on Earth Steward Tours at the Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands. Learn about Organic Farming and Animal Husbandry while having loads of fun! - Veggie Crew
Work parties take place in our Bradner Gardens Park in the Mt. Baker neighborhood. Work parties have an educational topic, and are hosted by a Seattle Tilth staff gardener or trained Garden Steward. We ask for volunteers to attend six work parties throughout the season.
Internships
- Farm Steward at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands
Work with Seattle Tilth and Friends of RBUFW to transition a ten acre commercial nursery and wetlands site into a market organic farm. Development is starting in 2013 after extensive community input! Learn about greenhouse and shade-house management, field cultivation, harvesting, produce distribution, education techniques, wetlands restoration, and much more. - Garden Steward at Bradner Gardens Park
Gain “hands-on” experience and learn about organic food production and sustainable landscape management while working alongside Seattle Tilth staff and volunteers in the garden, during classes, and pursuing independent projects. - Rainier Beach Learning Garden (RBLG) Steward Intern
Learn organic gardening techniques while helping to build and maintain the learning garden at RBLG. Help support large garden projects, host work parties, and keep the garden looking beautiful.
