Have you been thinking about raising bees in your backyard?  Honeybees are assets to the backyard gardener by pollinating fruit trees, berries, fruiting vegetables and other garden plants and they provide a valuable by-product to boot!  Winter is the time to prepare for starting hives in the spring.

This lecture-style introductory course will cover the fundamentals of beekeeping, including equipment, parts of the hive, location and codes of the apiary, feeding and treating bees, and seasonal management.

COST: $35 or $25 for Seattle Tilth members.  Advance registration and payment are required.
