Perfect for first-time bee keepers, this class will show you how to start your hive with confidence! You will learn how to install your bee packages and do basic bee inspections during the first few critical weeks. Students will watch the instructor go through the process with a demo hive and mock-bee package and have the opportunity to ask questions at the end.

This lecture class will be taught by experienced beekeeper Corky Luster. Corky keeps bees in Ballard, is on the Board of Puget Sound Beekeepers, and mentors several novice backyard beekeepers around Seattle.  Corky is a certified journeyman beekeeper with the WSBA and owner of the Ballard Bee company.

Cost: $18 for Tilth members, $25 non-members.  Advance registration and payment is required.
