Interested in tending a flock of your own? Find out exactly what it takes in this thorough introductory class for anyone interested in keeping adult chickens. Learn the most important considerations in caring for a small flock of hens in limited space, including chicken physiology, behavior, health, nutrition, housing and city regulations.  Questions are encouraged in this lecture-based class and you will leave with the knowledge you need to start tending adult chickens in your own backyard. (For raising chicks, consider our "Start with Baby Chicks class" instead.)

COST: 

$40 individuals, $30 Seattle Tilth members, $60 Household price for two adults. Advance registration and payment are required.
