This class is perfect for the beginning gardener who wants to get a jump-start on the season! Why wait around for the nurseries to start carrying vegetable starts when you can save money and grow your own?  Best of all you can grow varieties you can’t find in stores.  Students will learn the basics of what it takes to start seeds indoors from setting up your nursery area to tending your seedlings.  The class will feature inexpensive techniques that use recycled materials and supplies you may already have in your home.

This class is being offered in West Seattle through a partnership with Community Harvest of Southwest Seattle.  Members of both organizations are eligible for the member price.

Cost: $25 for Tilth and Community Harvest members, $35 non-members.  Advance registration and payment is required.

We would like for everyone to be able to attend our classes. If you are unable to afford the cost of the class, you have the option of applying for Volunteer Time Exchange with Community Harvest of Southwest Seattle.  For more information, visit the Community Harvest website: http://www.gleanit.org/class-worktrade.html Volunteer Time Exchange spaces are limited so please apply early.
