Earth Steward Garden Tours for School Groups

Students pre-school through six grade visit our garden for fun, hands-on learning in an outdoor garden classroom. Plan a field trip for your school, classroom or summer camp!

Children engage all their senses through exploration and hands on activities in the Seattle Tilth Children's Garden. We taste herbs and flowers, touch the soft and the prickly, forage in the soil to discover compost critters and allow children to find the unexpected delights of gardening.

All tours begin with an introductory activity and two or three other learning "stations." Children learn and practice important garden activities such as making compost, planting, tending and harvesting crops, collecting seeds and other seasonal activities. Visit once or plan a series of visits to build upon gardening and environmental concepts.

WHEN:In the fall and spring tours take place from 10-11:30am and 1-2:30pm Tuesday-Friday. Please see here for available fall 2010 dates. We will begin booking for spring 2011 in the fall.

COST: $85.00 for 1-17 students / $5.00 per additional child up to 35 students.

CONTACT: For more information, call (206) 633-0451 ext. 106 or even better, email Jessica  jessicaheiman@seattletilth.org
